Father Pierre Roy

A German priest of the Diocese of Osnabrück, Germany, Fr. Roy was born in Jacmel, Haiti in 1962. He studied Administration in Haiti at INAGHEI, Philosophy at Haiti Notre Dame Seminar, and Theology at the Jesuit Institute of Philosophy in Mexico and at the Pontifical Catholic University (PUC) of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He was also executive director of the Diocesan Human Rights Center (1995 - 2007) and the Interamerican Platform for Human Rights, Democracy and Development in Latine America.

Father Roy was a German pastor in Salzbergen, Nordhorn, and Nord Niedersachsen from 2007 to 2018. After the earthquake, Father Roy returned to his homeland Haiti in 2010 to build Jacmel, the Foundation John Paul II a School from Kindergarten to high school for 500+ children and young people, a shelter home for Girls victims of sexual abuse, and an Agro-pedagogical Farm, which provides plantain and meat for the school.
